Morigaon , Mar 12: In order to create mass awareness through farmers’ on modern agricultural technology and farmers can get avail the benefit of various govt. schemes,Morigaon District Agriculture Office( DAO) in collaboration with Morigaon District Administration and under the courtesy of Agricultural Technology Management Agency( ATMA) organized a two day ‘ Krishak Mela-2026’ in the premises of agriculture office which was formally inaugurated by the District Commissioner Anamika Tewari in presence of DAO Dilip Kr. Bora , GM of NABARD K. Sabita Devi ,DPD of ATMA Hiramoni Das . Speaking on the occasion The District Commissioner Anamika Tewari said the Krishak Mela organized by the Agriculture Department has become a huge platform for the farmers and the agricultural sector in the district.
He also highlighted issues such as creating public awareness through agriculture, ensuring that farmers get proper benefits of schemes and innovation in the agricultural sector. As part of the function, progressive farmers Raju Mani Bhuyan and Junti Bhuyan, who were specially invited by the President to the National Parade on Republic Day, were specially felicitated. The event, which began with a concert by invited artists, also honored 12 progressive entrepreneurial women farmers by NABARD in conjunction with the International Women’s Year.
This Krishak Mela also includes exhibition of agricultural , horticultural crops, exhibition of quality products produced by various departments, buyer-seller conference, digital business training, technical seminars, exhibition of modern agricultural machinery, farmer training etc. The fair also featured 25 shops with products produced by various departments, Agricultural Science Centres, Self Help Groups and Farmer Producer Companies under the district administration. The crops produced by the farmers in various markets have attracted the attention of all the farmers who come to the Krishak Mela. A “buyers-sellers” conference was also held as part of the first day of the Krishak Mela. Digital business training, marketing of produce and value addition were discussed in detail at the event. The program was moderated by Assit. Inspector of Agriculture Dibyajyoti Hazarika.
The programme was attended by Sub-Divisional Agriculture Officer and Nodal Officer Muchahid Faruqui, Mehedi Arif Hussain, ATMA’s Deputy Project Director Hiramani Das, District Fisheries Officer, District Animal Husbandry Officer, officers of relevant departments, Agricultural Development Officers, Agricultural Inspectors, ATMA’s ATMs and BTMs were present. The two-day Krishak Mela will be concluded tomorrow .
