MORIGAON, Aug 1: The newly elected 12 members of the Morigaon Zila Parishad (MZP) were sworn in on Friday at a ceremony held in the MZP meeting hall.
The oath-taking ceremony was attended by Minister of Information and Public Relations Pijush Hazarika, Morigaon MLA Ramakanta Deuri, Deputy Commissioner Anamika Tiwari, and MZP Chief Executive Officer Ananta Gogoi.
Pranati Kalita Deka of the ruling Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) took oath as the President of the Morigaon Zila Parishad, while Archana Patar assumed office as Vice-President.
Both leaders pledged to work with transparency, cooperation, and commitment for the overall development of the district.
The ceremony was also attended by Assam Youth Commission member and assistant observer Ratul Sharma and social worker Apurba Deka. Out of the 12 Zila Parishad seats, the BJP secured eight in the recent panchayat elections.
