Mukul Kathar dropped as secy to KAAC

DIPHU, April 30: Senior ACS officer, Mukul Kathar who was secretary of the Karbi Anglong Autonomous Council (KAAC) has been withdrawn from Hill Areas Department.

Kathar is directed to report to the Personnel Department, Government of Assam for further posting. The order was issued by the secretary to the Government of Assam, Personnel (A) Department, IAS, Jadav Saikia on April 29.

It may be mentioned that two FIRs have been filed in Diphu police station against Kathar, i.e., one by his wife and another by the elder sister of his wife for domestic violence and physical assault. Kathar has also allegedly gone to the paternal residence of his wife and fired into the ground in the compound.

The police have recovered the alleged pistol used in the firing by Kathar and are presently searching for him. Kathar has allegedly fled Diphu after the firing incident.
