Murder-Accused Jorhat Dhaba Owner Gives Up

JORHAT, Aug 10: Debraj Dutta, owner of a dhaba on the western outskirts here under Pulibor Police Station, who was on the run after allegedly beating his cook severely on July 22, surrendered before a judicial court here on Wednesday.

The cook Pabitra Tamuly succumbed to his injuries on August 2.

A police source said that Dutta, whom police were looking for after Pabitra Tamuly was severely physically assaulted allegedly by Dutta on July 22, surrendered before a court here.

Notably, the court sent Dutta to police remand for five days for investigation in the case, the source added.
