SIVASAGAR, April 17: “It is a right of the rural people to have improved roads like that of the ones in the towns but there are many roads in rural Assam now which are as bad and broken as the one that touches Namtiali rly station from historic Dhodar Ali”, said Satya Pratim Gayan, a local entrepreneur of Namti to this correspondent on Sunday.

The 25 km road from Namti Chariali to Borsola is in horrible condition mainly due to perfunctory nature of road making by the contractors and lack of quality control measures of the Lok Nirman Bibhag.

The ONGC vehicles that ply between its oil fields in Namti Borsalla region and the GGS centres in Meteka and Gaurisagar damage the road frequently.
