DIPHU, May 14: National Lok Adalat was organised by District Legal Services Authority, Diphu, Karbi Anglong at Karbi Anglong District Judiciary Campus here on Saturday.
Lok Adalat is one of the alternative dispute redressal mechanisms where disputes or cases pending in the court of law or at the pre-litigation stage are settled or amicably settled such as pending bills or loans related to APDCL, North East Small Finance Bank, State Bank of India, United Commercial Bank, Assam Garmin Vikash Bank and other commercial banks.
The pre-litigation cases taken up were 2,494 and 138 have been disposed of. The settlement amount collected was Rs. 15,00,008. While another 647 court cases were also taken up and 140 cases have been disposed of. The settlement amount collected was Rs. 3,71,000.
