National president of JCI India on three-day visit to Assam

GUWAHATI, Aug 4: The national president of Junior Chamber International India (JCI India), advocate Rekhesh Sharma, has embarked on a significant three-day visit to Assam. This visit highlights JCI India’s commitment to leadership development, entrepreneurial training, and community service across its 28 zones, with the north-east region designated as Zone XXV.

The visit marks a significant milestone for Zone XXV, featuring three days of power-packed mega PR events. Zone XXV is actively involved in numerous initiatives promoting education, healthcare, skill development, and environmental sustainability.

Joining advocate Rekhesh Sharma on this visit are key JCI leaders, including zone president JCI SEN CA Shubham Agarwal, immediate past zone president (IPZP) JCI SEN CA Bijay Kr Agarwal, zone director management JC Richa Choudhary, protocol officer JC Rahul Verma, and other dignitaries of Zone XXV. Together, they will visit local organisations within Zone XXV that are spearheading impactful projects such as school and village adoptions, vocational training for underprivileged youth, and implementing renewable energy solutions in remote areas.

These initiatives align with JCI’s global mission and contribute significantly to the development of the north-east region. During his visit, advocate Rekhesh Sharma will inaugurate several sustainable and impactful projects, demonstrating JCI India’s dedication to community development and empowerment.

Notable projects during the visit include the launch of mehendi classes for 100 girls at Parijat Academy Garchuk by JCI Kamrup Elite. This initiative aims to empower young women by providing them with skills to earn a livelihood. JCI Rangia Royals contributed by installing traffic barricades and a water filter.

On the second day, the national president visited Garbhanga Parijat Academy, adopted by JCI Guwahati Biz Yaariyan, where solar lights and inverters were installed to improve the school’s infrastructure. JCI Guwahati Hunar undertook multiple sustainable projects in Kamarkuchi, Sonapur, including the construction of a borewell system and installation of solar lights. The national president then visited Harijan Colony and the school adopted by JCI Guwahati Princess, where he inaugurated several projects. This local organisation has refurbished the entire school and constructed a water storage system and shower room in the area.

Day three started with Drishti Daan 2.0, one of the largest eye check-up camps in the north-east, organised by JCI Guwahati Biz Woman. This was followed by the adoption of an orphanage in Bonda by JCI Dispur Capital, where they have taken care of the overall development of the orphanage. The national president also inaugurated a project by JCI Guwahati Achievers at Guwahati Blind School, Latakata, where they implemented a waste food management system specifically designed to address the challenges faced by blind children.

These initiatives highlight JCI’s commitment to creating sustainable and positive changes in local communities. Advocate Rekhesh Sharma’s visit underscores the importance of these projects and reinforces JCI India’s dedication to the development and well-being of the region.

The collaboration between the national president and local organisations exemplifies the spirit of JCI, fostering growth and development through collective efforts and innovative solutions.
