GUWAHATI, May 11: The Assam Bn NCC and 47 R & V SQN NCC of NCC Gp HQ Guwahati in collaboration with Regional Science Centre, Guwahati celebrated National Technology Day, on Thursday, to commemorate the first of the five nuclear tests that were carried out on May 11,1998 at Pokhran, Rajasthan.
The celebration of National Technology Day can be regarded as a tribute to the pioneering achievements of Indian scientists and technologists. 162 NCC Cdts from NCC Gp HQ Guwahati participated in various events like spot essay competition, open science quiz competition and display of science models by NCC Cadets of 1 Assam BN NCC and 60 Assam Girls BN NCC.
A special attraction during the day was showcasing of ship models and Aeromodels by 48 Naval Unit and 50 Assam Air NCC SQN respectively. To educate the young and vibrant NCC cadets and the visitors, a lecture was organised and a science movie was also screened at the Regional Science Centre.
