JORHAT, Jan 31: Pulak Mahanta (ACS) assumed charge as the Jorhat Deputy Commissioner from Ashok Kumar Barman on his superannuation on Tuesday, at the Deputy Commissioner’s office chamber in the presence of senior district administration officials.
Prior to his new posting, Mahanta was the Majuli Deputy Commissioner. On Monday, Barman was given a warm farewell by the officials and employees of DC office at a meeting held in the office premises. He was presented with a ‘gamosa’, ‘seleng sador’, ‘xorai’ and flowers.
