NF Railway Undertakes Various Steps To Improve Customer Interface

GUWAHATI, Sept 28: With a view to improve the freight transportation and providing better customer interface, NF Railway has taken several initiatives during the month of August, 2022. The initiatives include opening of stations for handling of both outward and inward goods traffic.

To improve customer interface and further augment freight transportation, Bathnaha station under Katihar division has been opened for handling of iron and steel consignment (crane consignment) for a period of two months w.e.f 5th August, 2022. Earlier it was opened for handling of both outward and inward goods traffic including coal traffic except POL, livestock, explosive and crane consignment. Bhairabi station under Lumding division has been opened for handling of iron and steel consignment (crane consignment) w.e.f 22nd August, 2022. Earlier it was opened for handling of both outward and inward of all goods traffic except coal, POL, livestock, explosive and crane consignment.

Similarly, Kamalajari station under Lumding division has been opened for handling of iron and steel consignment (crane consignment) for another period of three months w.e.f 22nd August, 2022. Earlier it was opened for handling of both outward and inward of all goods traffic including coal except POL, livestock, explosive and crane consignment.

NF Railway is developing goods shed under Public Private Partnership mode at many places like Kishanganj, Katihar, Purnia, Raninagar Jalpaiguri, Changrabandha, New Cooch Behar etc. Gati Shakti terminals are also coming up at places like Balurghat, Deotala, Bathnaha etc.

Improvement of customer interface and introduction of Public Private Partnership mode in railways will lead to increase loading and unloading of freight trains. As a result of which revenue of N.F. Railway will significantly grow in the coming years.
