GUWAHATI, Sept 15: The Northeast Frontier Railway has decided to cancel, divert, and reschedule several trains due to upcoming infrastructure developmental works. These changes are necessary to facilitate various infrastructural and safety-related projects.
Several trains are set to be cancelled in light of the planned works. Train no 15769 (Alipurduar Jn. – Lumding) Intercity Express, train no 15770 (Lumding – Alipurduar Jn.) Intercity Express, train no 15753 (Alipurduar Jn. – Guwahati) Shifung Express, train no 15754 (Guwahati – Alipurduar Jn.) Shifung Express, and train no 15928 (New Tinsukia – Rangiya) Express, all scheduled for journeys on September 16 and 17, 2023, will remain cancelled. Additionally, train no 15927 (Rangiya – New Tinsukia) Express, scheduled for September 16, 2023, and train no 15967 (Rangiya – Ledo) Express, scheduled for September 17, 2023, will also be cancelled.
Train no 20503 (Dibrugarh – New Delhi) Rajdhani Express, which is set to commence its journey on September 16, 2023, will be diverted via Kamakhya – Goalpara Town – New Bongaigaon due to the ongoing works.
Several trains will undergo rescheduling to accommodate the infrastructural projects. Train no 05801 (New Bongaigaon – Guwahati) Passenger, scheduled for September 16, 2023, will depart at 06:10 hours instead of 04:40 hours. Train no 22411 (Naharlagun – Anand Vihar Terminal) Express, set to commence its journey on September 16, 2023, will now depart at 00:50 hours on September 17, 2023, instead of 21:50 hours on September 16. Train no 05810 (Guwahati – New Bongaigaon) Passenger, scheduled for September 17, 2023, will depart at 06:30 hours instead of 05:00 hours. Finally, train no 12510 (Guwahati – SMVT Bengaluru) Express, scheduled for September 17, 2023, will depart at 07:20 hours instead of 06:20 hours.
Due to remodelling work at Subedarganj station of the North Central Railway, train no 09526 (Naharlagun – Okha) Special, scheduled for September 16, 2023, will also remain cancelled.
These changes have been made in the interest of safety and to facilitate ongoing infrastructure development, ensuring the smooth progress of the projects.
