GUWAHATI, June 27: Northeast Frontier Railway (NFR) has commissioned architectural facade lighting at Lumding Railway Station, enhancing its visual appeal and improving passenger amenities as part of its ongoing infrastructure modernisation initiatives.
The project features energy-efficient RGB LED facade lighting with programmable illumination effects, providing uniform lighting across the station’s frontage, domes, columns and other architectural elements.
Weatherproof outdoor fittings and cabling have also been installed to ensure reliable operation under varying weather conditions.
According to NFR’s official statement, the newly installed lighting system not only enhances the station’s appearance during the night but also promotes sustainable infrastructure through the use of long-life LED technology, which is expected to reduce maintenance requirements while ensuring efficient illumination.
With the completion of the project, Lumding Junction has emerged as a prominent illuminated landmark in the Northeast Frontier Railway zone, reflecting the organisation’s commitment to modern, passenger-friendly and environmentally sustainable railway infrastructure.
The architectural facade lighting initiative forms part of NFR’s broader efforts to combine functionality with aesthetic improvement while upgrading railway stations across the region.
Officials said such projects are aimed at improving the travel experience and providing world-class facilities for passengers.
Northeast Frontier Railway reiterated its commitment to strengthening rail infrastructure and enhancing passenger amenities through sustainable and innovative development initiatives across its network.
