The event marked the culmination of weeks of intensive training and enthusiastic participation from the railway community, particularly employees and their family members.
According to an official release, the Summer Cultural Workshop was conceived as a platform for promoting the rich folk traditions of Northeast India while also nurturing emerging talent in modern artistic disciplines.
The workshop witnessed wide participation from children, youth and adults from across the railway fraternity, who underwent training in a variety of cultural forms.
The cultural programme held during the closing ceremony showcased a series of captivating performances that reflected both the traditional heritage and contemporary creativity of the participants.
Traditional dances such as Bihu, Bagurumba, and Jhumur were performed with remarkable finesse, drawing applause from the audience.
These were complemented by soulful renditions of folk songs, vibrant modern dances, drama presentations and displays of fine arts—each piece reflecting the depth of talent within the NFR community.

Officers, staff and their family members filled the Rang Bhawan auditorium, adding warmth and camaraderie to the festive atmosphere.
The performances, prepared over weeks of rehearsal and training, were widely appreciated for their quality and cultural depth.
This year’s workshop was especially focused on blending regional pride with creative expression.
Participants were provided training in both classical and modern art forms, encouraging them to explore and express their identities through multiple mediums.
The Association noted that such initiatives not only help younger generations stay rooted in tradition but also equip them to reinterpret cultural narratives for the modern era.
The official statement also highlighted that the NFR Cultural Association has been a pioneer in such initiatives, serving as a bridge between heritage and contemporary expression.
Over the years, it has emerged as a vital forum for artistic growth, drawing on the diverse cultural wealth of the Northeast and encouraging inclusivity across linguistic and ethnic lines.
As the curtains came down on this year’s workshop, the applause and admiration from the audience served as a fitting tribute to the performers’ dedication and the Association’s role in sustaining and evolving cultural life within the railway fraternity.
