NFR to operate two pairs of summer special trains

GUWAHATI, April 17: For the convenience of the passengers during the summer, the Northeast Frontier Railways (NFR) will operate two pairs of summer special trains.

While one train will operate between Guwahati and SMVT Bengaluru, the other will operate from Agartala in Tripura to Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj Terminus in Mumbai. Both the special trains will operate for eleven trips each in both directions. Passengers in the waiting list of other trains travelling in these routes can avail the opportunity to travel with comfort during this summer in these special train.

The special train SMVT Bengaluru – Guwahati will depart from SMVT Bengaluru at 11:40 pm on every Tuesday from April 16 till 25 to reach Guwahati at 4:50 am on Friday. In its return direction, the special train Guwahati – SMVT Bengaluru will depart from Guwahati at 6:15 am on every Saturday from April 20 till 29 to reach SMVT Bengaluru at 10:55 am on Monday. The special train will consist of unreserved general and chair car coaches only. During its both ways journey, the special train will run via Rangiya, New Jalpaiguri, Malda Town, Kharagpur, Brahmapur, Rajamundry, Katpadi Jn. etc. Another special train  Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj Terminus – Agartala will depart from Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj Terminus at 11:05 am on every Thursday from April 17 till 27 to reach Agartala at 1:10 am on Sunday. In its return direction, special train Agartala – Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj Terminus will depart from Agartala at 3:10 pm on every Sunday from April 21 to 30 to reach Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj Terminus at 3:50 am on Wednesday.

The special train will consist of two AC 3-tier and eighteen sleeper class coaches. During its both ways journey, the special train will run via Badarpur,Guwahati, Rangiya, New Jalpaiguri, Katihar, Patliputra, Satna, Jabalpur, Khandwa Jn., Bhusaval Jn., Igatpuri, KalyanJn. Dadar etc.

Further, in a step towards providing convenience to rail travellers, additional stoppage for two minutes has been provided on the train Dibrugarh – New Delhi – Dibrugarh Rajdhani Express at Rangiya Station and train Guwahati – Mariani Jn. – Guwahati BG Express at Bokajan station commencing its journey from April. Also, two minutes additional stoppage has been provided in train Sealdah – Agartala – Sealdah Kanchanjunga Express at Bihara station commencing journey from April 18.

Meanwhile, the train Dibrugarh – New Delhi Rajdhani Express will arrive at Rangiya station at 7:45 am and depart from 7:47 am. In return journey the train New Delhi – Dibrugarh Rajdhani Express will arrive at the Rangiya Station at 6:04 pm and depart at 6:06 pm. The train Guwahati – Mariani Jn. BG Express will arrive at Bokajan station at 8:05 pm and depart at 8:07 pm. In return journey the train Mariani Jn. – Guwahati BG Express will arrive at Bokajan station at 9:19 am and depart at 9:21 am. The train Sealdah – Agartala Kanchanjunga Express will arrive at Bihara station at 12:03 pm and depart at 12:05 pm. In return journey the train Agartala – Sealdah Kanchanjunga Express will arrive at Bihara station at 1:25 pm and depart at 01:27 pm.

These new stoppages of trains will provide another option for rail commuters of the areas for their journeys. The details of stoppages and timings of these trains are available at IRCTC website and through NTES and are also being notified at various social media platforms of NFR. Passengers are requested to verify the details before undertaking their journey.
