DIBRUGARH, March 23: Yasobanta Mahanta, managing director of Trand Hotels Anstolts Pvt. Ltd. Liechtenstein, Austria enthralled the audiences through his deliberation in an online international workshop organised jointly by the Postgraduate Department of Commerce and the Department of Human Resource Management of DHSK Commerce College on March 21. He maintained, “To be successful as an entrepreneur in any venture, the strength of the inner urge matters the most. Therefore, we should have a very strong motivation in favor of anything we dream of.”
In the online workshop entitled “Entrepreneurship in Hospitality Industry: An Achiever’s Journey”, Mahanta explained his journey in the field of the hotel industry very attractively to a few hundred participants including academicians, students as well as entrepreneurs, etc. He further narrated how despite being a rural boy from Assam, he was finally able to receive the prestigious Master Chef of Austria recognition.
The workshop held through the google platform was inaugurated by Dr Khanindra Misra Bhagawati, principal of the college. Delivering the keynote address in the workshop Dr Pranjal Kr Phukan, chief manager, BCPL emphasised entrepreneurial start-ups to cope with the problem of unemployment.
Meanwhile, Dr Bhupesh Bhagawati, co-ordinator of the workshop and the HoD, department of Human Resource Management delivered the welcome address, where he observed that entrepreneurship can be a potent alternative to address the issues related to the problem of the continuous rising unemployment. Pankaj Sahu and Dr Priyanka Dhanuka, both faculty members of the host departments, who served as the joint technical coordinators of the workshop, also conducted the interaction session.
