NTPC Bongaigaon hosts Ash Utilization Meet 2026

Programme focuses on sustainable ash management and digital transformation initiatives

KOKRAJHAR, May 23: NTPC Limited Bongaigaon at Salakati organised a two-day Ash Utilization Meet 2026 beginning May 21, with discussions centred on sustainable ash management and digital transformation initiatives across NTPC stations.

The programme was organised on the theme “Driving Sustainable Ash Utilization with Digital Transformation” and aimed at providing a collaborative platform for deliberations on digital integration, infrastructure strengthening and efficient ash management practices.

The meet was inaugurated by Ravindra Kumar, Director (Operations), who stressed the importance of treating ash as a valuable resource with significant revenue potential.

In his keynote address, Kumar highlighted the role of digital technologies in improving operational efficiency in ash management and urged NTPC stations to actively utilise the AsTraM portal for enhanced transparency in transportation tracking, billing and monitoring systems.

He also emphasised the need to optimise Rail-Cum-Road (RCR) transport systems for long-distance ash movement, expedite completion of DAES facilities and ensure strict safety standards at ash dykes.

Senior NTPC officials attending the inaugural session included Vijay Chand, RB Mallik, Chandramouli Kasina, Arnab Maitra, G Raja Shekar, Anurag Gupta and Subhash Gokhale.

The event is being attended by heads of ash utilisation departments from various NTPC stations, corporate ash management teams, regional representatives and officials from the USSC Group.

The programme includes technical presentations by NTPC stations and corporate teams, along with discussions on new initiatives and best practices in ash management.

A technical visit to the NTPC Bongaigaon ash dyke has also been scheduled as part of the event.
