KOKRAJHAR, Feb 23: The 24th NTPC Quality Circle Convention held at Bongaigaon was inaugurated by DK Patel, director (HR) on Wednesday through video conferencing.
Ashim Kumar Goswami, RED (ER-II); Karunakar Das, BUH (Bongaigaon) and other senior officials were also present on the occasion.
Patel congratulated Bongaigaon for organising the 24th NTPC Quality Circles Convention in a grand way.
In his inaugural address, Patel enthused the participants with a motivational speech and highlighted the importance of quality circles in organisational growth. Patel desired that quality circles should gain more momentum in the stations and more improvement projects be undertaken by the QCs.
Ashim Kumar Goswami, RED, ER-II, the guest of honour in his address spoke on the women power in QCs and said QC case studies have brought great financial benefits and results to the organisation in various areas of operations.
Earlier, Karunakar Das welcomed the guests and the dignitaries and spoke on the growth trajectory of NTPC and the importance of the convention as a knowledge sharing platform. The convention saw presentations from 14 teams from different NTPC stations on a wide range of topics covering all domains of business.
During the convention, Aqua Power, Bongaigaon was adjusted first position, Anusandhan, Farakka and Urja Jyothi, Simahadri were adjusted second and third position respectively while NTPC Gadarwara was adjusted as the best quality circle unit.
This time, the best station to promote quality initiatives among associate workers was recognised. NTPC Rihand Station bagged the award.
Model exhibition awardees are – Urja Jyothi, Simhadri (first), Tech Enlighters, Darlipalli (second) and Horizone, Solapur (third).
REDs from various regions, HOPs and employees from various stations joined the convention through MS Teams. The convention was judged by C Chakraborty, former ED, NTPC, B Pujar Ramesh, former GM, NTPC and Sunil Kumar Trivedi, faculty, QCFI, Bhilai.
