NTPC celebrates 20th foundation day HT Correspondent

KOKRAJHAR, Jan 17: The NTPC Bongaigaon Salakati on Thursday celebrated its 20th Raising Day at its plant premises in Kokrajhar.

Arnab Maitra, chief general manager (CGM) NTPC Bongaigaon Salakati hoisted the NTPC flag at administrative building premises followed by NTPC Geet and cutting of cake. Balloons were released by Maitra in the presence of Debabrata Kar, GM (O&M), Asutosh Biswas, GM (Operation), Kasturi Maitra, president, Bardwi Shikla Ladies Club, Soumya Kar, vice president, Bardwi Shikla Ladies Club, CISF, departmental heads and employees from various Depts, unions and associations, members of the various welfare bodies.


In his address to the employees, Maitra said NTPC Bongaigaon Salakati’s foundation stone laid on January 16, 2006 has not only opened the gates of development in the entire Bodoland Territorial Region (BTR), Northeast and the entire nation.


In his address, Maitra said that as of January 14, 2025, our station has achieved notable operational milestones, generating an impressive 3848.64 million units (MU) of energy with a Plant Load Factor (PLF) of 73.98% and a Declared Capacity (DC) of 93.34%. 


The station has maintained critical parameters like Auxiliary Power Consumption (APC) and specific oil consumption within acceptable limits, alongside a specific water consumption of 2.55 litres per kilowatt-hour (KWh), reflecting our focus on sustainable resource management, he added. Maitra appreciated the fact that in the Safety Evaluation Matrix (SEM) and Performance Evaluation Matrix (PEM) rankings across NTPC, NTPC Bongaigaon currently holds the 4th position.

He added that the core strength of NTPC Bongaigaon is the rich pool of experienced professionals with a vibrant group of young executives. The positive energy generated by this team is evident in operational performance, welfare activities as well as keeping the township life electrifying, Maitra added.
