ORS Week Celebrated At Marwari Hospitals In Association With IAP

GUWAHATI, July 30: The city based hospital Marwari Hospitals celebrated ORS Week on Saturday in the premises of Marwari Hospitals in association with Indian Academy of Pediatrics (IAP) in association with Indian Academy of Pediatrics and in collaboration with FBC Limited. Doctors, paramedical staffs, nurses and parents attended the event.

Dr Suresh Kumar Jain, senior child specialist of the hospital, spoke about the importance of ORS Day and the theme of the ORS Week. He also elaborated on the importance of ORS and Zinc in the management of diarrhoea and demonstrated how to prepare ORS. He stressed on giving Zinc tablet along with ORS.

He urged people not to be confused with energy drinks commonly available in the market and advised them to buy ORS having WHO formulation.

It should be noteworthy to mention that along the city based hospital, Marwari Hospitals, whole world is celebrating this week as ORS week and in many hospitals around the world, such kind of awareness drive or program relating to ORS is going on in this week.

The program at Marwari Hospitals started at 11 am on Saturday and ended at 12 noon. Along with Dr. S. K. Jain, the other guests present in the awareness drive or meeting were director of Medical Services of Marwari Hospitals, Dr. J. P. Sarma, Hospital superintendent Rohit Upadhayay, senior Paediatric consultant Subhash Chandra Jain, other doctors from Medicine Department Dr Dinesh Agarwal, Dr. Rajkumar Agarwala, Dr. Debashish Baidya and also members of FBC limited.
