Pijush Hazarika reviews preparations for Srimanta Sankardev Sangha session

BISWANATH CHARIALI, Jan 10: Cabinet Minister Pijush Hazarika on Friday visited the Jyoti-Bishnu Samannay Khetra at Dhalaibil, where the 95th annual session of the Srimanta Sankardev Sangha is scheduled to be held on February 6, 7 and 8. The minister inspected the venue and reviewed the ongoing preparations for the mega religious and cultural event.

Addressing media persons during his visit, Minister Hazarika assured that the state government would extend all possible cooperation to ensure the smooth and successful conduct of the conference. He said that necessary instructions have already been issued to the Public Health Engineering (PHE), Public Works Department (PWD) and Assam Power Distribution Company Limited (APDCL) to expedite their respective works at the venue.

Naduar MLA and working president of the reception committee, Padma Hazarika, along with ASTC chairman Pallab Lochan Das, accompanied the Sonitpur guardian minister during the inspection. Members of the organising committee warmly welcomed the visiting team and briefed the minister on the progress of preparations for the upcoming annual session.
