Poetry collection ‘Bidyanjali’ by Khorgeswar Das released in Udalguri

HOWRAGHAT, March 16: A poetry collection titled Bidyanjali, written by emerging journalist and poet Khorgeswar Das, was officially released recently during the 10th anniversary celebrations of the news portal Assam Focus at Orang in Udalguri district.

The book was formally unveiled by Shankar Gohain, editor of the Assamese daily Dainandin Barta.

The release formed a key highlight of the two-day anniversary programme of Assam Focus held on March 14 and 15.

The ceremony was organised ahead of a formal journalists’ meet scheduled on the second day of the programme.

The event was attended by Naba Kumar Deka, Managing Director of Assam Focus, along with several senior journalists, social workers, youth leaders and other distinguished guests.

The programme also served as a platform to recognise contributions in the field of journalism across the region.

On the occasion, Khorgeswar Das, who is based in Howraghat in Karbi Anglong district, was also honoured with the ‘Youth Journalist Award’ by Assam Focus in recognition of his service to journalism in the district.

Participants at the event described Bidyanjali as a reflection of the poet’s life experiences, capturing both struggles and moments of joy through the perspective of a media professional.
