DIBRUGARH, Nov 13: To strengthen public safety and maintain law and order, Dibrugarh Police have intensified foot patrolling across urban and rural areas of the district. The initiative aims to enhance police visibility, deter crime and foster closer engagement between law enforcement and citizens.
Police teams are conducting regular patrols in crowded marketplaces, transport hubs, educational institutions, residential colonies and other vulnerable areas. Special night rounds are also being carried out to monitor sensitive zones and ensure round-the-clock security.
A senior police officer said the drive is a key component of community policing, encouraging citizens to interact with police personnel and share information that can prevent criminal activity. Officers are also engaging with shopkeepers, street vendors and residents to gather feedback and identify areas requiring increased surveillance.
Authorities have urged the public to cooperate with the police, report suspicious activity and use helpline numbers or approach patrolling officers for assistance. The foot patrolling initiative is expected to reinforce a sense of safety, curb criminal incidents and strengthen the partnership between the police and the community.
