Poshan Abhiyaan Programme Organised At Karbi Anglong

DIPHU, Sept 22: As part of the national POSHAN Abhiyaan, a Central Government initiative which aims to strengthen the effort to end hunger and malnutrition, the Rashtriya Poshan Maah 2022 is being observed from 1st to 30th September.
In view of the Poshan Abhiyaan, Karbi Anglong a programme was organised by All AWW and Helpers Dhansiri Circle Lumbajong ICDS Project Manja, Karbi Anglong at Adarsha Abhijan Anganwadi Centre, Dhansiri on Wednesday last.
Through the 5th Rashtriya Poshan Maah, the ministry plans to rope in the Gram Panchayats as Poshan Panchayats to carry out various activities focusing on the health of the women and the children.
Executive member (EM), Karbi Anglong Autonomous Council (KAAC) District Social Welfare and ICDS, Rina Terangpi participating in the Poshan Abhiyan said the Rashtriya Poshan Maah is observed to create awareness about the health of children and lactating mothers. It is to give awareness to pregnant women and lactating mothers about the need for intake of nutritious foods to keep them healthy.
The programme was attended by District Social Welfare officer, Helen Terangpi; chairman, VDC, Dhansiri, Kensing Engleng; BC Poshan Abhiyan, Karbi Anglong, Doty Doimairy and others.
