GUWAHATI, April 8: The Government of Assam has declared 22nd April, 2022 (day of poll) as public holiday for the ensuing Guwahati Municipal Corporation Election, 2022, within the Guwahati Municipal Corporation area where polling would be held.

All the government/non-government offices, educational institutions and business establishments including banks, tea garden and industries etc. within the Guwahati Municipal Corporation area would remain closed on account of this public holiday under the NI act.
