Hari Nanda Gorh said that due to two so-called vested interest leaders of the Powai area, namely Rupesh Tanti and Nirmal Das Kalandi, the incident occurred. Without having any information, the workers of Powai Tea Estate protested, and for that reason, they were deprived of two days’ wages, for which both Rupesh Tanti and Nirmal Das Kalandi are fully responsible.

Hari Nanda Gorh stated that both Rupesh Tanti and Nirmal Das Kalandi provoked the workers of Powai Tea Estate to protest. As a result, they received nothing; hence, their two days’ wages were cut off. The Assam Chah Mazdoor Sangha (ACMS) Margherita branch warns Rupesh Tanti and Nirmal Das Kalandi not to play with the emotions of tea garden workers; otherwise, in the coming days, they will have to face harsh punishment under the law.
