Purvottar Gaushala Maha Sangh formed

GUWAHATI, Jan 10: With the initiative of ‘Shree Gauhati Gaushala’, a meeting was convened at the premises of the ‘Gaushala Campus Athgaon’, here on January 8, under the presidentship of Jai Prakash Goenka, wherein representatives of various ‘Gaushalas’ of the North East region were present.

In the meeting, the ‘Purvottar Gaushala Maha Sangh’ was formed with its office at the ‘Shree Gauhati Gaushala’ in Athgaon. The meeting unanimously elected Kailash Chand Lohia as its president, Jai Prakash Goenka as the working president and Krishna Kumar Jalan as the secretary.

In the meeting, it was decided that all the ex-officio presidents and secretaries of all the ‘Gaushalas’ of North East will be members of the ‘Maha Sangh’.  Altogether 45 members (representatives) of the ‘Gaushalas’ were present on the occasion.

In the meeting, the representatives discussed various problems faced by the ‘Gaushalas’ in the Northeast region. It was decided that a representation of the ‘Maha Sangh’ will meet the government officials concerned and apprise them for the various issues faced by the Gaushalas.

Among the dignitaries who addressed the meeting were Shankar Lal, National convener of RSS Gau Seva and Krishna Kumar Goenka, state convener of RSS Gau Seva Vibhag and Umesh Torwal, National convener of Vishwa Hindu Parishad of the Gau Seva Vibhag.

Ashok Dhanuka trustee is in charge of the ‘Shri Guwahati Gaushala Trust’. The representatives of various ‘Gaushalas’ present in the meeting were felicitated by Kailash Chand Lohia and Ashok Dhanuka.

Gautam Sharma apprised the gathering regarding the discussion held with the Minister and government officials in a meeting held on December 3, 2022 at the Secretariat. Various representatives of the ‘Gaushalas’ welcomed the initiative taken by the ‘Shree Gauhati Gaushala’ in forming the ‘Maha Sangh.
