DIBRUGARH, Nov 30: Dibrugarh University Anti-Ragging Committee on Wednesday expelled four students of the university for a period of three years for their involvement in ragging.
They were also debarred from taking admission in any institution for a period of three years.

The expelled students were Galab Deka, 3rd Semester (Life Science), Kamaleshwar Chutia, 3rd Semester (Mathematics), Mousum Phukan, 3rd Semester (Applied Geo Physics) and Pusang Kham Boruah, 2nd year (Tai Language).
“The four students of Dibrugarh University have been imposed the punishment as per the Clause 7 (B) (IX) of Dibrugarh University Regulations for Prohibiting Ragging and Anti-Ragging Measures,” Dibrugarh University in a statement said.
Dibrugarh University authority has suspended its three hostel wardens of Padma Nath Gohain Baruah Chatra Nivas (PNGB).
The wardens are Dibojoti Dutta, Abu Mustak Hussian and Palash Dutta.
Talking to media person, Dibrugarh University vice-chancellor Prof. Jiten Hazarika said, “I have suspended all the three wardens of the hostel and have constituted a high-level inquiry to probe the matter.”
On the other hand, Dibrugarh police on Wednesday arrested one more accused allegedly involved in the Dibrugarh University ragging incident.
The accused have been identified as Subhrojyoti Baruah, 3rd semester student of Political Science.
Another person has also been picked up by police for providing shelter to the accused, identified as Nabo Kumar Newar.
“Till now four students, involved in the ragging incident were arrested. Our search operation is on to nab Rahul Chetri,” Dibrugarh additional SP(HQ) Bitul Chetia.
