DONGKAMUKAM: Hail and heavy rain battered West Karbi Anglong on Friday afternoon. Hundreds of houses were damaged, electric poles were broken and trees were uprooted. Traffic was blocked on the road for a few hours due to fallen tree branches.

Sources said that it would take a few days to restore electricity as the poles have to be re-erected and cables will have to be re-installed. No casualty has been reported.
