NAGAON, April 22: Rajya Sabha MP, president of Asom Nagarik Somaj and former journalist Ajit Kumar Bhuyan and secretary of the Asom Nagarik Somaj, Paresh Malakar participated in a public meeting in connection with the ongoing LS polls at the premise of Nagaon Nonoi Panikhati Masjid on Monday.
Bhuyan while speaking on the occasion advocated the need for restoration of democracy as well as its Constitution in the country with adequate electoral participation in the ongoing Lok Sabha polls.
Addressing the media ahead of the public meeting on Monday, MP Bhuyan said that the ruling BJP has squeezed the neck of the democracy of the country and also torn the pages of the country’s Constitution.
The ruling saffron party tries to cross the electoral gaps by terrorizing and polarising the people, he said adding that BJP is a communal party.
Prime Minister Narendra Modi is worried that the Bharat Joro Yatra has succeeded in the first phase of the elections, Bhuyan added further.
Referring to the earlier strategy of the ruling BJP, which rejected the Muslim votes, he said that the same BJP is currently looking for Muslim votes.
