HOJAI, Feb 14: Union Minister of State (Independent Charge) for Youth Affairs and Sports, Raksha Nikhil Khadse, visited Hojai district on Saturday on the instructions of the Prime Minister’s Office. She attended a key review meeting held at the District Commissioner’s office hall, which was chaired by District Commissioner Bidyut Bikash Bhagwati. During the meeting, the minister reviewed the progress of various Central government schemes being implemented in the district. She expressed satisfaction over their successful execution and thanked the district administration and concerned departments for their efficiency and dedicated efforts in ensuring effective implementation.
Minister Khadse assured that she would take up issues related to MSME schemes and difficulties faced by beneficiaries in securing bank loans with the Prime Minister’s Office and the concerned ministries. She stated that these problems would be addressed at the earliest to ensure smoother delivery of benefits to eligible beneficiaries.
The minister also highlighted that the February 1, 2026 Union Budget is favourable for the Northeast, particularly Assam. She said that an allocation of Rs 49,725 crore has been earmarked for the overall development and growth of Assam, which would further strengthen infrastructure and welfare initiatives in the state.
All district department officers were present at the meeting and made detailed PowerPoint presentations outlining the status of their respective schemes, progress achieved so far, future plans and challenges faced during implementation. Following the review meeting, the minister visited the newly constructed Lamding Mini Stadium, Kasturba Gandhi Balika Vidyalaya in Lamding and houses built under the Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana (Rural), where she interacted with officials and reviewed the facilities and development works on the ground.
