KOKRAJHAR, Dec 22: Noted writers of Bodo literature – Rashmi Choudhury and Raja Debajit Basumatary bagged the Sahitya Akademi Awards along with other two eminent writers of the state.
The Sahitya Akademi Award was announced on Thursday across the nation where four literatures have bagged the award and brought laurels across the state.
Rashmi Choudhury of Baksa district bagged the Sahitya Akademi in Bodo language for her collection of poems ‘Sansrini Madira’, & Raja Debajit Basumatary of Chirang bagged the award for translation of his book ‘Kabuliwalani Bangali Biji’.
Eminent writer & senior journalist Manoj Kumar Goswami won the Sahitya Akademi Award in Assamese for his book titled ‘Bhool Satya’, & Prof Juri Dutta won the Sahitya Akademi Translation Prize for ‘Kacharithi: Aaraya Nari’.
Bodo Sahitya Sabha president Toren Boro congratulated the Sahitya Akademi Award winning writers including the Bodo writers. He said it is a great joyous moment for the state.
The chief executive member of Bodoland Territorial Region (BTR), Pramod Boro also congratulated the writers of the state who have been named for the Akademi Awards.
