Rengma Naga Students Union (RNSU) Organizes Felicitation Meet

DIPHU, Sept 10: Rengma Naga Students Union (RNSU), Diphu unit organised a felicitation cum freshers’ meet at Farmers Growth Centre here on Saturday. A total of 52 meritorious students who cleared the HSLC, HS, degree and professional courses were felicitated during the programme.

The programme started with an invocation by the advisor, RNSU, Diphu unit, Lolita Jishing and blessing prayer by Beninlo Jishing.

Attending as the chief guest, Member of Autonomous Council (MAC), Phenpiga H Rengma said due to the Covid-19 pandemic, the freshers meet and felicitation programme is being held after a gap of two years.

Rengma said, “Today 53 Rengma Naga students who passed the matric examination have been felicitated. For a small community like Rengma Naga residing in Karbi Anglong, 53 students passing in matric examination is a big number for the tribe. I thank God for his gratefulness and also congratulate the students for their success.”

Consultant Clinical Cardiologist, Olive Christian Hospital & Research Centre, Dimapur, Dr Eli Seb Rengma attending the programme as the guest of honour asked the Rengma Naga students pursuing their higher studies and in other professions to focus on their studies as there is no shortcut to success.

Installation and prayers were also offered by the Lead Pastor of Western Rengma Baptist Association. The programme was attended by the president, RNSU, Thangshi Jishing Rengma, and student leaders of other student organisations.
