KHERONI, Feb 15 : The State unit of RNSS (Rachnatmak Nonia Sanyukta Sangh) of Assam celebrated its seventh foundation day in West Karbi Anglong district on 14 February.
The event was observed at the premises of Mailoo Hindi High School, Mailoo area in Kheroni of West Karbi Anglong district.
The programme started at 12 noon in the school premises, with the quiz competition that was conducted by Dr Rajesh Kumar Chauhan and Dharmendra Chauhan – both members of the Sangh. Around 100 students of classes III to XI from a number of schools participated in the quiz competition. Certificates and gift items were awarded to each top three of the classes while all participants were awarded with certificates of the RNSS.
A felicitation programme was also held for those awarded with the doctorate degree (Ph.D) from the Nonia community of Assam. Dr Rajen Singh Chauhan, assistant professor of Hojai Girls College, Dr Shio Jee Chauhan, lecturer of Udali College Lanka, Dr Bind Kumar Chauhan professor of Bongaigaon College and Dr Rajesh Kumar Chauhan, assistant professor, Dokmoka College were felicitated with a Bhojpuri gamucha and appreciation of certificates respectively.
An open session was held at the school building premises where Jay Singh Chauhan, chairman of the school managing committee, was the chief guest. All the guests were felicitated with Bhojpuri gamusa. Speaking on the occasion, Dr RK Chauhan, professor of Thong Nok Bey College Dokmoka emphasized the need to issue the OBC caste certificate to community members residing in the district. Dr Shiojee, professor of Udali College Lanka thanked the organization and also he added that money can’t be a barrier of education.
Among the dignitaries present on the occasion were Subhash Gond headmaster of Mailoo Hindi School, Rameshwar Chauhan headmaster of Belbari Hindi LP School, Raj Narayan Chauhan assistant teacher of ARB High School Nawailbil, Kishore Kumar Chauhan assistant teacher. Pratap Sing Yadav assistant teacher, Kishore Kumar Bhagat Assistant, Lalit Narayan Thakur, Assistant teacher, Kanaihya Sing assistant teacher of Mailoo Hindi High School.
The keynotes of the meeting were dwelt upon by Pankaj Kumar Chauhan secretary and Shiv narayan Chauhan state executive member of the state unit.
