DIPHU, Oct 6: More than 2,500 people of Sarthe Senar village, Taralangso No 1 under Ward No 11 of Diphu have been benefited after the chief executive member (CEM) of Karbi Anglong Autonomous Council (KAAC), Tuliram Ronghang took the initiative for the improvement of the road, said ward commissioner of Ward No 11 of Diphu town, Sagar Chetry.
The road from Sarthe Senar is via Langmili.
Ward commissioner Chetry said, “When there were no proper roads, people of our locality faced difficulties particularly during the rainy season.”
Chetri claimed that he along with the villagers of Sarthe Senar village had approached the MP, minister, MLA, and even the concerned executive member, PWD, but nobody took note of the dilapidated condition of the road then.
He said it is the BJP ruled KAAC, under CEM, Tuliram Ronghang that understood the plight of the villagers and took initiative to repair the road which connects 25 villages.
The road has now turned into a smooth black topped road.
Chetri also expressed his gratitude to the CEM.
The length of the road is 4.5 km, from behind Diphu Medical College and Hospital (DMC&H) to Sarthe Senar village. The work was undertaken under the State Owned Priority Development (SOPD) scheme.
