GUWAHATI, March 24: The Guwahati chapters of Round Table India (RTI) and Ladies Circle India (LCI), namely Guwahati Gateway Round Table 240 (GGRT 240) and Guwahati Gateway Ladies Circle 158 (GGLC 158), successfully inaugurated 8 new classrooms, 2 renovated classrooms, and 1 toilet block (5 cubicles each for boys and girls) at Shankardev Bidya Niketan in Kapahera, Morigaon. This initiative is part of their commitment to supporting the ‘Freedom Through Education Movement’, which aims to provide quality education and essential infrastructure to underprivileged children.
The inauguration ceremony took place on Saturday, in the presence of esteemed guests and dignitaries, including representatives from Guwahati Gateway Round Table 240, Guwahati Gateway Ladies Circle 158, Coimbatore Penta Round Table 101, Coimbatore Penta Ladies Circle 37, chief guest national honorary tabler Dharani Ranghanathen, Tr Pankaj Bhaiya Area 7 chairman, Tr Pankaj Agarwal Area 14 chairman, Cr Megha Jalan Area 14 chairperson, Cr Pooja Bhaiya Coimbatore Penta LC 37 chairperson, and school authorities. The event marked a significant milestone in the ongoing efforts to improve educational facilities for children in need.
These efforts align with the national achievements of Round Table India, a leading organisation in community service projects across the country. Since 1997, Round Table India has made a remarkable impact, having built over 8,665 classrooms in 3,616 projects. Their initiatives have positively influenced the lives of 9.53 million children, providing them with access to quality education and empowering them for a better future. The total investment in these projects amounts to Rs 437 crore, covering an area of almost 3.07 million square feet.
“We are delighted to contribute to the ‘Freedom Through Education’ initiative by building these classrooms at Shankardev Bidya Niketan,” said Gaurav Kejriwal, chairman of Guwahati Gateway Round Table 240. “Education is the key to empower children and provide them with a brighter future. Through this project, we aim to make a lasting impact on the lives of these students and contribute to their educational journey.”
Cr Sneha Kejriwal, chairperson, GGLC158 added, “This project would not have been possible without the generous donation from Dharani Ranghanathen and the support of Coimbatore Penta Round Table & Ladies Circle. Their contribution has been instrumental in making this endeavour a reality, and we are deeply grateful for their partnership in this noble cause.”
