As part of this initiative, the Amrit Bharat Station Scheme will be implemented, injecting Rs 990.2 crores into the renovation and enhancement of 32 railway stations in Assam. This substantial facelift is set to modernise these stations and offer state-of-the-art amenities to railway users across the state.

The redeveloped stations will encompass an array of conveniences, including expansive roof plazas, comfortable retiring rooms, well-appointed food courts, and spacious waiting areas for passengers. To ensure accessibility, Divyangjan-friendly ramps, along with modern conveniences such as elevators and escalators, will be integrated. Furthermore, the revamped stations will boast improved parking facilities with dedicated spaces for incoming and outgoing vehicles.

Environmental sustainability is also a key focus of this initiative, with the redeveloped stations set to be designed as green buildings. Incorporating solar energy solutions and water conservation systems, these stations will align with Assam’s ecological scenario.

The revamped stations are expected to bolster connectivity between major cities within the state, thereby stimulating economic activities and generating employment opportunities. The 32 stations identified for redevelopment include prominent ones such as Dhubri, Lumding Jn, Rangapara North Jn, Dibrugarh, and Jorhat Town, among others.
