Around 30 members, including Scouts, Guides, Rovers, Rangers and Unit Leaders from the Katihar and New Jalpaiguri District Associations, offered services at key stations such as Katihar, Barsoi, Purnia, Jogbani, Forbesganj, New Jalpaiguri, and Kishanganj. Their tasks included guiding crowds during boarding and de-boarding, assisting passengers on platforms and distributing free drinking water to ensure comfort.

To meet the high demand during the festive season, NFR is operating 620 special festival train trips from September to December 2025, connecting major destinations for travelers heading home or to pilgrimage sites. Special arrangements at major stations include temporary holding areas, enhanced announcement systems, extra ticket counters, automatic ticket vending machines and round-the-clock war rooms. Additional staff and RPF personnel were deployed to maintain crowd discipline and ensure smooth operations.

The voluntary contribution of Bharat Scouts & Guides reflected the spirit of service and discipline, complementing NFR’s efforts to provide safe, organised, and comfortable travel during Chhath Puja and other festivals.
