Security forces apprehended ENNG cadre in Changlang

DIBRUGARH, July 7: Security forces have apprehended one active underground cadre of ENNG from Arunachal Pradesh Changlang district on Wednesday.

The joint team of 9 Assam Rifles and Changlang police have apprehended the cadre identified as self-styled Sergeant Major Sampan Harap alias Jugli (24) of Eastern Naga National Government (ENNG) outfit from Changlang.

According to police, he attempted to recruit new members and extort money from Changlang town.
Security forces have launched an operation against the insurgents hiding in Arunachal Pradesh.

“We have apprehended numerous cadres of insurgent groups operating from Myanmar. The rebel outfit wants to disturb the peace of the region by doing subversive activities,” said a police source.
Arunachal Pradesh shares its boundary with Myanmar and the insurgent groups can enter Arunachal very easily through jungle route.
