BISWANATH CHARIALI, May 8:
At present, people in Assam suffer from difficulties in obtaining a government stamp paper which is required for land registration, conclusion of various agreements and court functions. There is a huge amount of money that is to be paid against the fixed price to purchase this stamp paper. It is true that one has to pay Rs 150 to Rs 170 to buy a Rs 100 stamp paper. So, it is necessary to stop selling all the government stamp paper at higher prices to prevent the uncontrolled trade in the state.

“The National Human Rights and Crime Control Bureau (NHRCCB) of Assam considers this issue very sensitive,” Nishant Thard, state president of the organisation said in a press statement sent to the newspaper through its state media officer Mrinmay Kumar Nath that the NHRCCB, Assam has written to the Revenue minister and the chief minister of Assam to make the government stamp paper available to everyone. The organisation requested the concerned authority to take action in this regard.
