The four core areas of evaluation in the Gunotsav exercise were scholastic (learning outcome), co-scholastic, infrastructure, and community participation.

The Gunotsav assessments were carried out by 465 external evaluators, including 11 higher officers and one minister in the district. Among the four education blocks, 305 schools from Amguri, 242 schools from Kheluwa, 357 schools from Demow, and 359 schools from Nazira Block participated in Gunotsav. The success of the district in the school education sector has been lauded by people of all sections here. Sivasagar Inspector of Schools, Devajyoti Gogoi, while congratulating the school teachers, School Management Committees, and the office staff for the consecutive success, expressed serious concern over the regularly irregular attendance of students in the schools. He told this correspondent that while there can be 99 percent students present on the day of Gunotsav, attendance on regular working days over the whole academic year appears to be very poor. It would require more support from all stakeholders, he added.

Our Demow correspondent adds: The results of Gunotsav 2024 were declared on Thursday, with Sivasagar district securing the first position. Adarsha Vidyalaya Demow, situated in Demow Raichai in Sivasagar district, achieved an A+ rating in Gunotsav 2024, bringing laurels to Demow.
