In the backdrop of allegations of discriminations from a section of tax payers, the meeting held under the chairmanship of Manoj Kumar Borthakur, felt it necessary that the Sivasagar Municipality Board( SMB) should clearly state the rate of tax slabs through some media for the public. The meeting urged the SMB to publish its total tax collection and expenditures as every tax payer has a right to know under the RTI Act.

The meeting also demanded that all infra tructure development works should be completed during the dry season as construction works are damaged by heavy showers during the monsoons, thereby leading to misutilisation of public money.

The Association urged the Sivasagar Municipality Board to reduce the amount levied against each car and increase the amount of those cars that are parked day and night throughout the year on road sides leaving little space for others. It also demanded that licences to the  transport companies should not be given inside the municipality area.

Among other things, the meeting decided to approach the state government to construct a modern RCC bridge over Dikhow dismantling the broken iron structure. It also demanded that a flyover be constructed from the ASTC point to the railway station on AT Road to ease the massive traffic congestion everyday.
