DIBRUGARH, Jan 4: Six persons, including four policemen, were injured on Sunday after an escort vehicle of Union Minister Sarbananda Sonowal’s convoy hit a civilian vehicle near Hatiali under Chabua Police Station in Dibrugarh district.
According to reports, the accident occurred on the Hatiali bypass in Chabua when the convoy was travelling from Dibrugarh to Sonowal’s native village Bindhakata in Chabua.
The escort vehicle reportedly collided with a Hyundai Creta, leaving six people injured.
Dibrugarh Superintendent of Police Gaurav Abhijeet Dilip said one escort vehicle from the minister’s convoy hit the civilian car near Hatiali in the afternoon.
“Six persons, including four policemen, sustained injuries. All the injured were immediately taken to Assam Medical College and Hospital in the same ambulance of the convoy,” he said.
The SP added that all the injured, including the policemen, are out of danger and are undergoing treatment at AMCH, Dibrugarh.
