Six senior government school teachers honoured in Nagaon

NAGAON, Sept 12: As part of the recent Teachers’ Day celebration, the district unit of Sadou Asom School Sewa Samiti felicitated six senior teachers from three government schools during a function at Nagaon Govt Girls’ HS School on Wednesday.

The programme was chaired by Riti Kakoti, in-charge principal of Nagaon Govt Girls’ HS School and president of the Nagaon district unit of Sadou Asom School Sewa Samiti. Dr Swapna Neog Bora, retired professor of the department of Education, Nowgong Girls’ College, attended as the keynote speaker. Other special invitees included Dipika Laskar, retired principal of Nowgong Govt Boys HS School, Basanta Goswami, in-charge principal of Nagaon Govt Boys HS School, Rajen Saikia, in-charge headmaster of Nagaon Govt Urban High School, and Dilip Bora, principal of Ramanujan Senior Secondary School.  

The six senior teachers felicitated were Tulu Kakoti, retired assistant teacher; Dipankar Bordoloi, teacher at Nagaon Govt Boys HS School; Minakshi Bezbaruah, retired teacher; Rajib Barua, retired teacher at Govt Urban High School; Jiten Ch. Das, assistant teacher; and Prafulla Ch Das, assistant teacher at Nagaon Govt Girls’ HS School.  

The event was mentored by Ranjan Barman, assistant teacher at Nagaon Govt Girls’ HS School, and concluded with a vote of thanks by Dr Munmun Bora, secretary of the district unit of the organisation, according to a press note.
