SMD College hosts workshop on eco-friendly Holi colours

SIVASAGAR, March 4: The Eco Club of Swahid Maniram Dewan (SMD) College, Charing, organised a workshop on the preparation of eco-friendly Holi colours on Monday, in association with the Assam Science Technology and Environment Council under the Environment Education Programme.

The workshop was inaugurated by Bidyut Kumar Bhattacharyya, Headmaster of Gaurisagar High School. Dr Bidyananda Borkakoty, Principal of SMD College, welcomed the guests and participants, while Devajyoti Hazarika, Assistant Professor of the college, anchored the programme.

Partha Pratim Handique from Barpeta participated as a resource person, providing training on how to make natural and organic Holi colours using eco-friendly resources.

A total of 53 participants, including members of various SHGs, school students and SMD College students, took part in the workshop. After the production process, participants sold the natural Holi colours to the gathering, including college teachers and staff members.
