Morigaon, Oct 02 : Umesh Chandra Goswami, a resident of Rajagaon, Morigaon town, passed away at a private hospital in Morigaon yesterday afternoon after suffering from cardial arrest .
He was 78 years old at the time of his death. Umesh Chandra Goswami, who retired from the Food Corporation of India’s Guwahati Regional Office.

Umesh Ch. Goswami also had been upholding the post of Sattradhikar of Sri Sri Gupalpur Sattra till his death. Late Goswami was closely involved in Rajagaon Bhagwat Charcha Samaj, West Rajagaon Bihu Sanmelan, Morigaon Sarbajanin Sri Sri Durga Puja Udjapan Samiti and several other organizations till his death. His funeral was held at Rajagaon Public Cemetery at night.
He is survived by his wife, a son, a daughter, daughter-in-law,, son-in-law, grandchildren and a host of relatives. The death of Umesh Chandra Goswami left a deep shadow of mourning in the area.
