DIPHU, Aug 16: The Karbi Anglong Autonomous Council (KAAC) and the District Administration, along with all line departments, observed Sok Divas in their offices across Karbi Anglong district on Saturday to honor the memory of innocent lives lost in militant violence.
The national flag was flown at half-mast, marking the tragic anniversary of the Dhemaji bomb blast that occurred 12 years ago during Independence Day celebrations, claiming the lives of children and others who had gathered in defiance of a militant boycott call.
Officials and staff paid homage by observing a minute of silence for the victims. They also pledged to uphold the values of unity, dedication and responsibility in their service to the community, resolving to keep alive the memory of those lost as a guiding light in their public duty.
