HOJAI, April 13: The Family Strengthening Programme (FSP) of SOS Children’s Villages of India organised a tablet distribution programme in Guwahati through its FSP team on Tuesday, a press release stated here on Wednesday. As per the release, the objective of this initiative was to empower seamless delivery of education for community children served by the programme. This is especially aimed at mitigating the challenges that the pandemic has brought about. The occasion witnessed the august presence of CWC chairperson, Basanta Kumar Sarma, and members: Papori Choudhary and Mahamaya Das. The village director of SOS Children’s Villages Guwahati, Subodh Das, and Ashim Das Laskar, assistant director – FSP Programme, were also present on the occasion. Abdul Karim, Joseph Shadap and Bhagya Shree from the FSP team organised and co-ordinated the programme. Paras Thapa held a session on digital learning and awareness, including nuances of cyber-crime and cyber security. The children were delighted to receive the tablets. One of the beneficiaries said: “I never imagined owning a tablet; now I can continue my studies, uninterrupted.”
