MARGHERITA, Nov 30: Special camps and on spot registration activity was organised on Wednesday by the district election officer, Margherita for the 17 and 18 years above students in the higher educational institutes under 124 number Margherita LAC for registration of new voters with January 1, 2023 as the qualifying date, as a part of the Special Summary Revision, 2023.
The eligible voters in their respective educational institutes availed the opportunity by registering themselves by filling in the Form-6(A) and submitting the proof of their residency and age along with their photos to the officials from the Election department.
The new voter or prospective voter can also register themselves through offline mode by contacting the nearest BLOs or election officials or visit www.nvsp.in or voters.eci.gov.in or download the Voter Helpline APP(VHA) for self-registration. Apart from new registration, for any discrepancies in the photo electoral roll the claims and objections can be filed by an eligible voter till December 8, 2022, which will be settled by December 26, 2022. The final Photo Electoral Roll will be published on January 5, 2023.
Notably, this initiative under the directive of the Election Commission of India is being undertaken so that no person is deprived of the basic right to vote.
