GUWAHATI, Nov 2: The Special Task Force (STF) on Saturday conducted a raid at Kaylanpur, Hengrabari, as a notorious drug peddler was apprehended with his vehicle in the process.
Alongside the man, a total of 106 vials containing heroin weighing 138.84 grams were also recovered. The seized vehicle was a Mahindra XUV 3XO bearing AS 01 GA 1759.
The accused is identified as Bhaskar Kalita, aged 30, hailing from the Nityananda Bongaigaon village in the Bajali district.
After the arrest, upon further investigation by the Police into his rented house located in Anandapur, Dispur, they found an additional 107 SPM-PRX Plus containing Tramadol substances weighing 80 grams.
The Police also found 645 grams of suspected ganja, cash totalling Rs 5400, and 52 empty vials.
Both raids resulted in the apprehension of 138.84 grams of suspected heroin, 645 grams of suspected ganja, 107 SPM-PRX Plus containing Tramadol substances weighing 80 grams, 2 mobile phones, cash amounting to Rs 10,700, one 4-wheeler, and 52 empty vials.
Necessary formalities are being taken by the police, as per the official statement.
