Samiran Bora, DDC, Sivasagar and president of the Reception Committee, delivered the welcome address. Debajit Bora, secretary of Asom Sahitya Sabha, spoke on the objectives of the meeting, emphasising the immeasurable contribution of the Radhakanta Handique family to Assam and to the Sabha. President Dr Basanta Goswami urged all to participate in the centenary celebrations of the Chandrakanta Handique Bhawan on December 2 and 3, which has kept the flame of the Sabha alive over the last century.
